Antonia Schäfer is a German cinematographer based in London and Köln. She is a graduate of the National Film and Television School.
Antonia has in-depth technical knowledge, which she has acquired through her work in the lighting and camera department on numerous film and television productions across Europe. Antonia is drawn to character-driven storytelling, building the visual world from the emotional journeys of the characters. She values close collaboration with directors and heads of department and enjoys working both on analog film and digital formats. With experience across a wide range of camera systems, she adapts her approach to best serve each project.
Antonia's work has screened internationally, including "They Made You Into A Weapon And Told You To Find Peace" (EnergaCAMERIMAGE Tadpole nominee), "Two Travelling Aunties" (Best Student Short, Kashish Pride FF), and "Cicada" (Out on Film, Atlanta). She has worked on set of European feature productions such as "The Devil’s Bath" and recently wrapped the feature "Sweet Nothings". She is currently in production for the feature documentary "Das letzte Dorf – Voices from Vakifli". Antonia has shooting experience in Germany, Austria, the UK, Majorca, and Colombia, and is a member of Cinematographinnen Rising.
