Antonia Schäfer is a cinematographer from Germany, based in London and Cologne.
After finishing her BA in Cinematography at the internationale filmschule köln (2017–2020), where her graduation film "Charly" (dir. Alisa Kolosova) received the Hofer Gold Prize 2021 and won Best Debut Feature at Evolution Mallorca Filmfestival 2022, she worked on various European feature productions for two years, including "The Devil’s Bath", gaining experience as a spark and as C-camera operator, before doing her MA in Cinematography at the National Film and Television School in London (2023–2025).
Her recent projects include "They Made You Into A Weapon And Told You To Find Peace" (dir. Roxana Stroe), nominated at EnergaCAMERIMAGE 2025, and "Two Travelling Aunties" (dir. Christine Seow), winner of Best Student Short at the Kashish Pride Film Festival 2025 and nominee at the Aesthetica Short Film Festival 2025. Her short "Cicada" (dir. Roxana Stroe) premiered at Out on Film 2025 in Atlanta, marking its international debut.
In the summer of 2025, Antonia wrapped production on the feature film "Sweet Nothings" (dir. Toby Kearton). 
She is drawn to films that capture the many facets of life and to stories that reveal their meaning between the lines. Her work spans narrative and documentary shorts and features, commercials and music videos, and she enjoys balancing digital formats with her passion for shooting on analog film.
Antonia has shooting experience across Germany, Austria, the UK, Majorca, and Colombia. 
She is part of Cinematographinnen Rising.
